The DECO 60 course allows divers to use two optimized decompression gases to a maximum of 60 meters
Service Description
The program expands on the knowledge learned, and the skills mastered in the DECO 50 program. Upon completion divers will be certified to dive to a max depth of 60m/200 feet using use Normoxic Trimix with a minimum oxygen content of 18%. Helium is based on a 30 meters / 100 foot EAD/END. Decompression obligations are only limited by the amount of gas carried by the diver. The manuals use the latest graphics and are both exciting and challenging. There are three manuals that cover all the essentials for the program, they are: -Diving in General -Confined Water -Open Water Program Overview Equipment selection & preparation Advanced dive planning END/EADs CNS & OTUs ICD Deco gas choices Emergency and contingency planning Decompression diving procedures Drills & skills including shutdowns Following a decompression schedule Multiple gas switching & accelerated deco procedures with 2-3 stage cylinders Team awareness and communication Duration- 6 days This includes classroom, a confined water session (pool) and 5 dives. The first dive is a simulated deco dive to a max depth of 30m/100 ft. The following 4 dives are all planned decompression dives increasing in depth and minimum deco time. Prerequisites -Be at least 18 years old. -Be certified as a DECO 50 diver or equivalent. -Have logged 65 hours or 100 dives on open circuit. -Have logged 10 decompression dives. -Have logged 20 hours between 30 and 50 meters. Equipment Needed Dive Computer: Please let us know what kind of dive computer you have before arrival to make sure it’s suitable for the kind of diving we will be doing. Most dive computers that have the ability to do a “Gas Switch” will suffice. 1 Back up Timing Device: A secondary dive computer or bottom timer Masks: One primary mask and one back up mask. Fins: Any fins besides split fins and you should be okay. Recommended “tec style” or jet fins. Tec Pockets: If you own tec pockets or pocket shorts, please bring them unless you are doing this in sidemount. Compass: One that points north is preferable 2 cutting devices SMB and spool: 1 Orange SMB and 1 finger spool (minimum 40m length) and 1 Yellow SMB Primary Light Laptop, Smartphone or tablet with decompression software Wetnotes or wrist slate If done is Sidemount you will need your own sidemount rig. Regs can be rented from us. Price includes Training, Material, and Certification fee. It does NOT include gas used on the course, any equipment rental or boat fees (if desired)
